A very highly valued co-created arts and crafts project working in collaboration with the local community of ethnic minority women where traditional embroidery originates from Bangladesh, India, West Bengal. Use of embroidery, drama, games, sketching and food are vital to develop social interactions to combat mental health and well being.
Food brings people together and gets people talking. Bangladeshi cuisine has many similarities with the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent along with strong Persian influences of Mughlai cuisine and uses a lot of the same fragrant spices and aromatics. Food is also an artistic skills showing its heritage and culture are passed down from generation to generation. Promoting health and well-being for Asian families using traditional food during our healthy eating projects delivered by New Hope Global enabling Bangladeshi beneficiaries to take small steps to adopt healthy lifestyles to build on community knowledge and skills.
