BENEFIT & ADVICE service

New Hope Global is responding to the Cost-of-Living Crisis experienced in our communities and is continuously looking for ways in supporting our beneficiaries struggling to pay utility bills and essential household costs. We believe it is vital to ensure that people get all the help they are entitled to maximize household income as being unaware of entitlements is a common cause of financial hardship.

We have been providing one-to-one advice support services since 2020 and will continue to provide Advice Services to anyone over 18 years of age, living in Birmingham and surrounding areas, working or unemployed, thinking of going into a new job, sick or disabled, a parent, a young person, an elderly person. Our service will provide one to one appointment with an experienced Benefits Advisor to help maximize income, help to manage budgets, and debts, moreover, provide advice and support with benefit entitlements, help to make applications on their behalf, referrals to grants, housing applications, food banks, and other financial support that may be available.

Our service is overseen by an experienced coordinator with over 25 years of experience and our advisors have many years of experience and are trained in Advice, Information and Guidance. Our Welfare Benefits Advisors take a holistic approach and support beneficiaries navigate to wider health, social, training, employment, legal and other voluntary sector services as needed.

dwp workshop

The Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) kindly delivered a workshop to women regarding income maximisation, cost of living, in work benefits entitlement and Universal Credit migration. This session aimed to address the specific challenges faced by BAME women in accessing financial aid and dealing with the rising cost of living. NHG is working closely with DWP to ensure that BAME women receive the necessary support and guidance to navigate the complexities of the benefits system and improve their financial well-being.  The women also had an opportunity to get benefit  calculations done.
