Enhance Digital Skills to Relieve Loneliness
New Hope Global received funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund of The National Lottery Community Fund and Home Office for this project in 2020.
Due to the recent Coronavirus disaster in the UK, it has become more challenging to maintain a healthy lifestyle- mentally and socially for everyone, particularly for digitally excluded older people. With the help of these grants, NHG will organize virtual workshops that will combat the loneliness of these vulnerable adults in the community through the digital befriending interventions (such as Whats App, Zoom, Skype video conferencing, and telephone calls).
This project will help our beneficiaries to get in touch with them, to inform, interpret and explain government guidance and other mental, physical health, and management of finance-related supports including applying for the government's financial help.
Moreover, the number of people who developed mental stress, depression, isolation, and loneliness during this lockdown period due to unemployment they will also become more confident and improve digital skills that will help their career development in the future.
