Rumena Ahmed joined New Hope Global in March 2021 as Business Development Manager. As a Business Development Manager, her role is to manage and implement the enterprise, training and employment activities to improve skills and qualifications of under privileged and marginalized communities in Birmingham in particular empower the Bangladeshi women and other BAME communities to alleviate unemployment and engage them in economic activities.

Rumena is an energetic, ambitious, and hardworking individual who has acquired extensive knowledge, skills and experience and expertise in management and service delivery in areas such as Project management, Health, Training, Enterprise and Employment.

Rumena has been working in Birmingham since 1995 working for many third sector organisations, Birmingham City Council Surestart Children Centres in Lozells, Handsworth and Small Heath areas. Rumena worked with SRB5 alongside South Birmingham PCT as Area Partnership Manager and in 2008 she went onto working for Birmingham Community HealthCare Trust as Area Health Manager (North Birmingham).
Rumena established and successfully managed own private businesses providing a creche service and a consultancy company.
Rumena is a great team player who believes in working together to reach goals and has worked well within multi-agency teams and formed excellent partnership with a range of key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. Key projects include developing the Centre for the Aston Family, successful enterprise programmes for women from BAME communities, achieving Lozells and East Handsworth Neighbourhood Forum’s Health Award for Lozells Children’s Centre and Ofsted outstanding awards for
health outcomes.
