Rumena Ahmed

Managing Director

Rumena Ahmed joined New Hope Global in March 2021 as Business Development Manager. In December 2021, her position changed to Managing Director with key interest in Health and Wellbeing.

Rumena is a dynamic leader with a clear vision for future delivery who responsible for overseeing all the charity’s short and long-term strategic planning, operations, people, and service development ensuring these are aligned with New Hope Global’s vision, mission, values, aims & objectives. Rumena has provided direction to NHG and to the team, implemented organisational restructure, systems, redeveloped the team to fit for purpose, matching skills to job role to achieve outstanding performance for New Hope Global working closely and communicating with Chairman/Director, Board of trustees, management, operations team, and the beneficiaries.

Rumena is an energetic, ambitious, and diligent individual who has acquired extensive knowledge, skills, experience and expertise in project management, consultancy, and service delivery in areas of Health, Women’s Enterprise, Employment, Training and Heritage. Women’s empowerment and wellbeing is very close to her heart and passionate about women accessing a range of opportunities and innovative programmes ensuring the enhancement of women’s development and rights.

Rumena is a great team player who believes in working together to reach goals and has worked well within multi-agency teams and formed excellent partnership with a range of key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Rumena lived in Aston, until 2006 and has worked across Birmingham since 1995 with 28yrs experience, starting her career in third sector organisations. She worked for St James Community Support and Advice Centre & Birmingham Settlement. She joined South Birmingham PCT as Area Partnership Manager for Aston on a SRB5 project and developed The Centre for the Aston Family on Witton Road, Aston. Rumena worked for Birmingham Community HealthCare Trust and on secondment to the Surestart/Children’s Centre programmes to over and managed the health promotion services for under 5 and families strand of 12 children centres in North Birmingham as Area Health Manager, Cherry Tree CC, Lime Tree CC and Golden Hillock CC. Rumena established and successfully managed own private businesses providing a creche service and a consultancy company. Rumena, holds professional management qualifications and a range of short course she has undertaken during career.
