Ashma joined New Hope Global in February 2022 as a Business Development Manager, her role is to manage and implement the enterprise, training, and employment programmes to improve skills and qualifications of under-privileged and marginalized BAME communities in Birmingham, to empower women from BAME communities and Bangladeshi women to alleviate unemployment and engage them in economic activities.
Ashma is a well-motivated individual with over 20 years’ experience of working in the third sector who has acquired extensive skills and knowledge in the management and service delivery of projects such as Mental Health and Wellbeing, Welfare benefits, Training, and Employment. Management, research, tracking client progression and supporting individuals in various projects have all enhanced Ashma’s skills and abilities in working with people. She is passionate about inter-generational work and has managed a programme for the elderly for a large charity in Birmingham. Supporting individuals and groups to address isolation and social exclusion through engaging programmes that include creative arts & crafts, healthy living, supporting volunteers, organising day trips, and providing support to women who are living with domestic abuse who are not ready to leave. Experience of working with the public has taught the value of friendliness, open mindedness and having a good sense of humour together with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. A hardworking and dedicated individual who enjoys responsibility. Having a highly professional outlook towards any project she undertakes. Possess excellent organisational skills to successfully transfer ‘good working practice’ from one area to another. Fluently speaks Bangla, Sylheti, Urdu, and Hindi.
